Fire Training

THE AIM OF EDUCATION

The aims are to teach proper behavior during fire, to take necessary precautions to avoid fire, and to assist with the evacuation and to teach what to do in case of fire to the current employees. Moreover, the required training is given appropriately with the existing equipment in case of fire at that precise location.

Article 8 of the Regulation on Occupational Health and Safety published in the Official Gazette dated 09.12.2003 and numbered 25311 by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security is mentioned about “Employers should appoint sufficient number of qualified employee about the work of first aid, firefighting and evacuation in order to take into account the size of the workplace and the specific hazards”

Furthermore, it became mandatory to prepare the Team of Fire Prevention according to “Regulations on Fire Protection of Buildings” issued by the Official Gazette dated 19.12.2007 and numbered 26735, to conduct fire training and perform fire drills at least once a year by the prepared team.

PARTICIPANTS’ AQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AT THE END OF TRAINING

• How the combustion and fire can be described.

• Factors that cause fire.

• The propagation speed of heat and smoke and their risks can be analyzed and their remedy known.

• The types of fire extinguishing equipment.

• Description of combustion.

• The definition of fire and types of fire.

• Extinguishing materials.

• How to apply the communication chain during the fire.

• Proper behavior during evacuation from the building.

• The kinds of detection systems and their technical properties.

• How to inform others if someone is trapped inside the building.

• The tasks of the first response team and how to assemble them.

• How to use fire extinguishing agents according to the specification.

• Knowledge of required tools and materials to extinguish the fire.

• Basic fire safety measures.

• How to inform the firemen, the concerned people and how to check the surroundings during the fire.

• Proper turning off switches, keys etc. while leaving the building.

• Knowledge of the ‘Chemical Agents’ that may provoke fire.

• Duties of organization and the emergency response teams.

• Can be provided with an extinguishing agents for each method and demonstrate successfully how to use it for at least one of the fire type.

• How to put out fires at their very beginning.

• Prepared on the training programs and able to teach to the others practically.
