WHAT IS OSGB (JHSU)?

Common health and safety unit (OSGB): the unit is authorized by Ministry and has the required equipment and personnel. It is established in order to provide occupational health and safety services to the workplaces by the companies who are operating according to the certificates of the public institutions and organizations together with the Turkish Commercial Code dated 13/1/2011 and numbered 6102.

SİMİN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY EDUCATION AND CONSULTANCY TRADE LTD., is authorized by the T.C. Ministry of Labor and Social Security as OSGB on 19.02.2010.

TO WHAT DOES SECURITY SERVICES REFER?

Since the numbered 6331 Law on Occupational Health and Safety was enacted on 30.06.2012 and enforced on 1 January 2013, it became compulsory to have at least an occupational safety specialist and occupational physician in accordance with the hazard classifications in all workplaces. Under those rules, the objectives are;

• Creating a healthy and safe working environment in the workplace;

• Leading the supervisor to enact workplace surveillance and submitting recommendations to employer;

• Supervising periodically the health unit in order to protect and improve the employees’ health;

• Planning the education and training of employees for their occupational health and safety, and submitting to the employer’s approval;

• Ensuring to record the annual work plan, annual evaluation report and study results;

• Providing storage for the documents about risk assessment results and exposure information, as well as the certificate of employment and periodic health examination results, occupational accidents and occupational diseases records in accordance with the principle of confidentiality;

• Preparing contingency plans and ensuring the coordination of actions to be required regarding first aid and emergency response.
