WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF WORKPLACE DOCTOR?
• Providing healthcare supervision at workplace, guiding employees and employers;
• Informing to the employer regarding any lack of design in the working environment;
• Keeping the records of the occurred occupational diseases and near-misses, notifying them the employer;
• Examining employees’ health history besides the work related issues, ensuring regular health checks and the implementation of preventive health measures;
• Protecting and taking care of employees with special circumstances such as in the case of pregnancy, previous occupational accident and minor workers. This situation is examined under the supervision of the physician, who will perform a risk assessment.
• Training employees about general health and hygiene;
• Preparing an annual working plan;
• Repeating the examinations that should be carried out according to hazard classifications: for the less hazardous class at least every 5 years, for the hazardous class at least every 3 years, for the most hazardous class at least one time every year in the workplace.
Moreover, before the work is carried out, workplace doctor must consult the employer about choosing protectors to be used by employees, examining the health conditions of the employees and observing any stress factors that may be caused by the work done and enacting the required activities in order to protect the employees, estimating the physical and psychological capacities of the employees evaluating if they are fit for the work.
